Kamala Harris jewellery: Vice President has £20,000 pearl necklace collection
Kamala Harris, 56, has made history by becoming the first female Vice President of the United States. In the little time she has been in office, Kamala has stunned fans across the world with her smart and classic outfit choices. She tends to add a pearl necklace to her look, something she has been doing for years. What do they mean?
Her Inauguration pearl necklace is thought to represent her Howard University sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first African-American sorority in the country.
Kamala also matches her jewellery to her outfits perfectly.
For a recent meeting with Joe Biden in the White House, she went for a smart dogtooth trouser suit with black accessories.
She added a black pearl necklace to the look, one which she has worn on several occasions.
She also opted to wear Irene Neuwirth custom earrings for the Inaugural Celebration last month.
The jeweller’s website states: “The pieces were custom designed by Irene for the occasion and include One of a Kind earrings set with Hexagon Step Cut Diamonds, Akoya Pearls and Diamond Pave and a One of a Kind Ring set with Square Step Cut Diamond.”
Each piece from the luxury brand is handmade to order and focuses on creativity, quality and craftsmanship.
Other pieces in her jewellery collection include her Everyday Essentials Double Strand Akoya Necklace by Mikimoto.
The £6,000 piece is made from 18k white gold and has been worn by Kamala on regular occasions.
With other pearl necklaces in her jewellery collection as well, her pieces could be worth upwards of £20,000.
Kamala also has an interest in shoes, specifically her Manolo Blank heels.
She has a huge collection of them and has sported them on several occasions.
The pieces retail for around £500 and have become a staple in the Vice President’s wardrobe.
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are also a huge fan of the designer footwear.
