Jim Carrey Announces He Is Done Playing Joe Biden On SNL!
While Joe Biden‘s time as the President of the United States is just now starting, Jim Carrey‘s impersonation of the President-elect on Saturday Night Live is already coming to an end! The legendary actor took to his Twitter account to announce that he is no longer going to portray Joe Biden in any future SNL sketches, much to the disappointment of fans!
As you might know, the funnyman took the role of the President-elect for six episodes of Saturday Night Live and generally received a lot of praise for his portrayal.
Carrey’s tweet reads: ‘Though my term was only meant to be six weeks, I was thrilled to be elected as your SNL President… comedy’s highest call of duty. I’d love to go forward knowing Biden was the victor because I nailed that s**t. But I’m just one in a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens!’
Jim Carrey debuted his Joe Biden in the October 3 episode of the longlasting comedy show.
The sketch showed him and Alec Baldwin’s Donald Trump having a disastrous first presidential debate.

While it was exaggerated for comedy purposes, in reality, the sketch was not far off from what happened during the actual debate!
Another iconic episode had Carrey portraying the fly that was stationed on Vice President Mike Pence’s head!
Jim Carrey was not the first to portray Joe Biden – others before him who took on the challenge were former cast member Jason Sudeikis as well as Woody Harrelson and John Mulaney!
At this point in time, it’s still not known who will be taking on the role after Jim Carrey but viewers are looking forward to finding out!
Last month, Sudeikis spoke to ET about the casting of Carrey, praising him but also teasing that he would not be against reprising the role one day!
‘He was great! When I was unable to do it and you’re like, ‘I wonder who it’s going to be. I hope it’s not some turkey.’ And then they end up getting a living legend,’ he told the news outlet.
