Elliot Page is divorcing his wife Emma Portner after three years of marriage.

The 33-year-old actor filed for a contested divorce at Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, legal records show.

It comes three months after Portner, 26, expressed her support of Page coming out as transgender.

She wrote on social media in December: “I am so proud of @elliotpage. Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world.

“I also ask for patience & privacy but that you join me in the fervent support of trans life every single day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in and of itself. Shine on sweet E. Love you so much.”

Portner is a dancer and choreographer from Canada.

Page was nominated for an Oscar for their role in the 2007 film Juno, and currently stars in the Netflix series Umbrella Academy.

The couple announced they were getting married in January 2018 after meeting on Instagram.
